Finding a
Better Way to do Moisture Control
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Jimmy Padgett has always been known to friends, family and business associates as having the ability to fix, install or build just about anything. Jimmy’s 35+ years of experience working with a variety of trades has provided him with the accumulated knowledge needed to solve complex issues. He found his niche about six years ago when he noticed that many of the quaint older homes in the historic areas of downtown Jacksonville were having moisture control issues in their crawl spaces. Unchecked moisture problems can eventually lead to mold growth, so Jimmy sought new and better ways to fix the problem in these homes.
Over 35 Years of Experience
Jimmy’s desire to solve these moisture problems and his ability to be a “fixer” has led him to become Jacksonville’s crawl space expert under the name The Crawl Daddy (formerly JP3 Solutions). So far Jimmy and his team have installed more than 100 moisture control systems locally in San Marco, Riverside, Ortega, Avondale and throughout central Jacksonville’s historic neighborhoods.
Jimmy noticed that traditional methods of moisture control through full encapsulation typically found in crawl spaces and basements in the North weren’t ideally suited for Jacksonville’s hot and humid climate. He believed that not only is this type of system unnecessary in many cases, but more costly than some of the other options for moisture control using a dehumidifier along with a waterproof liner barrier instead of a full encapsulation of the crawl space. His goal is to create a climate controlled environment specifically designed for each customer’s individual crawl space. Jimmy educated himself on the topic of moisture control by reading engineering books by moisture control experts and has developed new ways and systems for accomplishing this need that are cost efficient, effective and unique to his company.
